INTRODUCTION
The beauty of Palawan speaks for itself. Sparkling blue waters, sundrenched shore, and unblemished sea shores - this tropical region lies in the west of the Philippines and its heaven setting is ideally suited for celebrating love.
Now of course you can stay in an expensive hotel and ask them to put rose petals on the bed, but beyond that, what are some real romantic things to do?
Well, we've been taking guests on trips around Palawan for years, and our most popular traveler type is couples, and so, from our experience, these are the most romantic things you can do with your loved one in Coron, El Nido and Palawan.
1. SLEEP UNDER THE STARS
What could be more romantic than stargazing whilst lying on the sand on an Island?
There are a few ways to do this in Palawan, you can arrange a private boat to take you to local islands where there is a possibility to camp, it's a difficult process to arrange and the pick ups are not guaranteed.
Or, you can join an Coron to El Nido Boat Trip, El Nido to Coron Expedition or simply a Coron Island Hopping Tour. During this you will have the options to camp or stay in native cottages where you're so far from town that the sky lights itself up.
2. WAKE UP TO THE SOUNDS OF THE SEA
Similar to the above, what could be more romantic than waking up to the soft lap of the ocean? Having a nice breakfast made for you, and taking a walk along the beach? Sounds pretty dreamy right.
This can also be achieved during an expedition around Coron and the Calamian Islands but is more difficult to achieve if you stay on land in Coron (as there are no beaches near the town centre) and is not as romantic if you stay on land in El Nido, as there is too many people/rubbish. This is quite easy to do in Port Barton, but again, more people.
3. HAVE A PRIVATE ROMANTIC DINNER ON YOUR OWN ISLAND OR AT THE HOTEL
Ok, so if you're staying at a fairly nice hotel, most of them will be able to arrange a candlelight dinner if you ask at reception and give enough times notice.
On the Big Dream Boatman expedition, on one of the three nights, it's also very common for couples to eat on their own and enjoy a romantic evening together. Just ask the crew to help you set up a dinner, and they'll be more than happy.
4. WATCH THE MAGICAL SUNSET TOGETHER
In Coron town, the best place to watch the sunset is Mt Tapyas and in El Nido the best place is Napcan beach. If you're out on expedition, every night the boat tries to get to a private island in time for sunset.
5. TAKE MEMORABLE PHOTOS
Sometimes you're just the guy with the camera! But hey, if you can get yourself in some of the photos, at least some times, then you've got more chance of keeping the romance alive -- nobody wants to delete a good photo from their instagram 😂.

BONUS: FINALLY... PROPOSE!
What could be more romantic than a proposal!? We've helped lots of guys with their proposals in Philippines. There are many beautiful places to do it. If you are joining one of our trips, and you need help with any proposal, please let us know.
