Nacpan Beach
Located in El Nido, this 4-kilometer-long beach is among the world's top 10 most beautiful beaches. Its location is perfect for a day getaway on a beach with its warm, clear water and stunning sunsets. Food and drinks are also accessible as restaurants and catering services are available nearby. If you plan to stay at some of the renowned top accommodations in El Nido, settle in the area. You can drive a motorbike from town for 45 minutes to get here, hire a private tuk-tuk for a day, or contact Nacpan Shuttle for their shared van services.

Guimaras Island
The mango capital of the Philippines! Yep, you heard that right. Guimaras Island is a haven for mango lovers, filled with plantations of the sweetest mangoes you can find in the country. They even have a dedicated festival in May, where all dishes feature mangoes as the main ingredient.
But it’s not all about the mangoes; the island also boasts quiet beaches and island-hopping activities. Another amazing fact is that this island advocates renewable energy, with 27 wind turbines in San Lorenzo wind farms that generate power in some Western Visayas places. The shortest way to get to Guimaras is a 20-minute ferry ride from Ilo-Ilo at Ortiz Wharf to Jordan Port.

Mayon Volcano, Albay
Mayon Volcano is famous for its perfect cone shape. You have probably seen this iconic symbol featured by the Philippines tourism as it provides a perfect backdrop for any travel photos and videos in Albay. Mayon remains active up to this time.
When it erupted in 1814, it brought Cagsawa Church to ruins and the nearby town to ashes. The church is now part of tours when visiting Albay, with only its bell tower remaining. The closest you can get to Mayon is by riding an ATV through grassland trails and the Mayon Black Lava trail. The best time to visit is during the dry months, from March to May.

Kayangan Lake, Coron
Kayangan Lake is the most popular sight in Coron and boasts the clearest turquoise water you could ever see in a lifetime. Its lush greenery, rooted in the towering limestone cliffs, complements the overall ambiance of perfection. To get to Kayangan, take a private boat or join a Super Ultimate tour featuring Coron Islands. I suggest the first option so you can get there early and avoid the crowd.
You'll need to hike up the wooden stairs from the docking area, passing by the well-known photo spot featured in many postcards and travel blogs. As you continue down the stairs, you'll eventually reach the lake. Take a dip and be in awe. The indigenous people of Northern Palawan manage this place called “Tagbanuas," for whom this place, as well as the rest of Coron Islands, is sacred.

Malapascua Island, Cebu
Malapascua Island is located north of Cebu. The island is renowned for its diving spots, especially the chance to see thresher sharks. You must take a Ceres Bus to the New Maya Port to get to the island from Cebu City. From there, you’ll need a ferry ticket to Malapascua Island.
Once on the island, you can explore by motorcycle tour (including the driver) or drive to discover hidden beaches and coves. The island is small and home to fishermen. In the morning, diving shops get busy preparing for dives and the quest to find thresher sharks.

Chocolate Hills, Bohol
According to local folklore, these 1,776 rounded hills, no more than 200 feet high, with the tallest reaching about 390 feet, are said to have been formed by fighting giants. They earned the name "Chocolate Hills" because they turn brown like chocolate during the dry season.
Note that climbing the hills is not allowed, and the best way to experience them is to visit the Chocolate Hills Complex viewpoint in Carmen, which offers a 360-degree panoramic view. Other activities, such as ATV rides, ziplining, and bike zip, are also provided.

Hinatuan’s Enchanted River, Surigao del Sur
Its name is truly fitting, as this river's deep blue waters offer a sight of mystical charm from a fantasy land. Located in Surigao del Sur, Mindanao, it's a perfect spot for a refreshing swim. As part of a local tradition, you can witness the exciting spectacle of fish being fed by locals every day at exactly 12 noon.

Siete Pecados, Coron
A group of seven islets known for their clear waters and world-class coral gardens. This spot is part of the set tours offered in Coron. Siete Pecados is a marine-protected area, so boats cannot anchor. Snorkelers must swim from the boat drop-off point to the islets.

Magpupungko Beach and Magpupungko Rock Pools, Siargao Island
A 45-minute drive from General Luna will bring you to Magpupungko White Beach. You will find the Magpupungko Rock Pools at the corner of the beach. Both places are ideal for a day trip as you can enjoy the beach during high tide and a natural rock pool for swimming at low tide. If you get hungry, there are local restaurants at the beach, so spending a whole day in these spots is no problem.

Apo Reef
Roughly a 3-hour boat ride from Sablayan Port, Occidental Mindoro, you’ll reach one of the largest coral reefs in the Philippines. Because of its abundant marine biodiversity, it offers the best diving experiences in the country. Discover Apo Reef through various options. Join a group tour or diving excursion from Sablayan for a day trip or overnight camping experience. Alternatively, consider a liveaboard cruise offering packages to this natural wonder.

Lake Sebu, South Cotabato
Lake Sebu, the "Land of the Dreamweavers," is a captivating destination renowned for its rich T'boli culture and stunning lake. The area's vast watershed supports a thriving aquaculture industry, providing a significant source of income for the community. Explore the serene waters by canoe and discover the local lifestyles and traditions.
The T'boli tribe warmly welcomes visitors, offering demonstrations of their weaving techniques, showcasing their crafts, and adorning guests in traditional attire. If you crave authentic experiences, this is a must-visit in Mindanao.

Camiguin Island
The small island of Camiguin, north of Mindanao, often referred to as the "Island Born of Fire," was formed by its volcanic origins. Camiguin offers several must-visit spots, including the Hibok-Hibok natural hot springs, the 76-meter-high Katibawasan waterfalls, and the famous Whitesand Island.
What sets Camiguin Island apart from other destinations is the opportunity to explore the ruins of the old town and the sunken cemetery, submerged after the eruption of Mount Vulcan in 1871. Today, you can take a boat trip and snorkel or dive to the bottom, where you'll find the tombstones of the past, now covered with a garden of corals.

Bonbon Beach, Romblon
Bonbon Beach is a long white sandbar on Romblon Island. It narrowly stretches and reveals the rest of its length during low tide, connecting to a small island. The beach is a 10-minute drive from town, but walking is also an option. Some locals and tourists have been known to reach the location in about 45 minutes. When the wind is right, both sides of the beach offer perfect conditions for kiteboarding.

White Beach, Port Barton
Port Barton in San Vicente is another jewel of Palawan, and one of its finest spots is White Beach. It is a perfect place to relax, swim in its warm, clear waters, or lounge in hammocks hanging between palm trees that offer shade for beachgoers. The beach is accessible by foot with an hour-long trail or by boat with a five-minute cruise from the main town.

Kawasan Falls, Badian, Cebu
Kawasan Falls is a highlight of Cebu, boasting unbelievably cascading turquoise water that flows into a natural swimming pool. This waterfall system consists of three main falls, located in South Cebu. The most popular one, at the foot of the Mantalongon Mountain Range, offers a magnificent backdrop. Kawasan is renowned for its thrilling canyoneering adventures. However, if you prefer a less intense experience, you can drive to the entrance and enjoy a 15-minute trek to the famous waterfall.

Cambugahay Falls, Siquijor
Recently, Siquijor has emerged as a must-visit destination in the Philippines, with Cambugahay Falls leading the pack of the island's five popular waterfalls. To reach the falls, rent a tricycle or drive a scooter for 40 minutes from San Juan Town.
Upon arrival at the parking area, a 20 peso entrance fee is required, followed by a descent down the stairs to Cambugahay's lowest level. The falls feature three distinct levels, culminating in the largest and most popular pool at the bottom. The water is refreshingly cold and clear, perfect for a much-awaited swim amidst the jungle. You can enjoy the bamboo raft or use the swing and jump for a small fee.

Black Island, Busuanga
Black Island, located in Busuanga, Palawan, is a personal favorite of mine. It gets its name from its limestone cliffs, which look like a black wall from a distance. This spot is not your typical beach getaway, as there’s plenty to do here. From snorkeling among its impressive marine life and exploring the shipwreck in front of its island to venturing into its caves and enjoying cliff jumping into its pool, there’s something for everyone. Overnight camping under the stars on this island is an extraordinary experience.

Ditaytayan Beach, Culion
This pristine, long white beach in Culion is rapidly gaining attention among travelers. Its beauty truly shines on a bright sunny day, and its expansive sandbar is perfect for sunbathing. Because of its off-beaten location, only a few tour boats dock here, making it the perfect spot for swimming and snorkeling. Experience this gem by booking an Island Escapade tour from Coron, chartering a private boat from Culion, or joining a four-day, three-night Palawan expedition.
